Case Study

Old war photos badly damaged by fire and water...

We received a selection of photos from the Korean War.

They had been damaged by fire and water, after being left in a trench during cold weather; a small fire was started to keep the officers warm, then was left unattended! Consequently the fire had taken hold and much of the contents of the trench lost. Some photos survived!

After inspection of the photos we were able to clean up the edges and burnt areas. Our skilled restorer was able to build up the missing areas to the edge of the original photo, digitally.

The newly restored photos looked as if they had never been in the fire! We kept the photo in ‘sepia tone’ to be in keeping with the other photos.

The customer was extremely happy with the outcome.
